Just saw this article on cnn.
The word is getting out about the real cause of the war in the DRC. Let's hope as the situation continues to be exposed that positive changes will be implemented soon.
Conflict minerals from DR Congo the new blood diamonds? - Mar. 27, 2009
NEW YORK (Fortune) -- First there were "blood diamonds," the gems that fueled conflict and human rights abuses in Liberia and Sierra Leone. Then there was "conflict cocoa," the chocolate source that's harvested by children and funds civil war in Ivory Coast. Now concern is rising about the minerals that go into common consumer electronics. Could that be a BloodBerry or a Conflict Cell in your pocket?

Heaven Help Us
"The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and walk out the door and get on with their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable." - Brennan Manning

LOVE pt. 2
In a follow up to the previous post about Falling Whistles I wanted to share that Sean and co recently went back to the DRC.
Here's a little video goodness for you.
Also, the FW online store is now up and running. Go buy a whistle or two. STORE

The guys ended up in prison toward the end of their journey... Here is an excerpt from Sean's blog.
LIBERTE
We are finally free.
Congo Intelligence illegally arrested and held us as Black Water spies for the past 6 days.
I spent much of the first couple nights screaming Liberte! at our guards. Freedom.
We were expelled from the country and given our passports by Paris police. With a few hour layover, we are currently standing below the Eiffel tower.
There are many stories to share but for now, know how deeply grateful I am for all of your prayers and your love. We have all, simply by being born, inherited a great gift and a deep burden.
Liberty.
The people we met in Congo desire it with a fervor most of us will never know.
Our fight to make it theirs has barely begun.
Thank you all for traveling this journey with us. I ask for your partnership as we pursue what most call impossible.
Then again, the same has been said of every revolution.
This tower embodies such ideas.
Peace.
Sean.
